Derek Samuelson

Director of Advancement

Derek Samuelson serves as our Director of Advancement, having first joined the Neighborhood House in 2017 as our Director of Individual and Corporate Giving. Previously, Derek worked as Director of Fund Development and Communications at the YMCA of Greater New York and as a Prospect Research Consultant for Rachel Weintraub Consulting. Before transitioning into nonprofit work, Derek was Co-Founder and Vice President of Hudson View Appraisals, a residential real estate appraisal firm, for more than a decade. Derek is a graduate of Cornell University with a BS in Communication, holds a Certificate in Fundraising from New York University, and holds Certificates from both the Senior Leaders and Developing Leaders for Nonprofit Professionals programs at Columbia Business School.
