Any time of the day, any day of the year, take a look around our House and you’ll see the smiling faces of children. Lenox Hill Neighborhood House’s Youth and Family Services programs include a continuum of high quality educational, recreational, vocational, cultural and social activities for kids of all ages -- preschoolers through teens. We also offer services and support for parents and guardians to help children and their families learn and grow intellectually, emotionally and physically.

For more information about any Youth and Family Services program, please contact the YAFS Registrar by phone: (212) 744-5022, ext. 1276 or by email: ghamilton@lenoxhill.org

Early Childhood Center
For children ages 3 to 6 years, attending the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Early Childhood Center is always an exciting adventure. The preschool provides a rich educational curriculum year-round for 143 children from all five boroughs and dozens of ethnicities, many of them from low-income families. Our program prepares children for success in kindergarten and later grades by working on socialization, motor and academic skills. We also provide an introduction to pre-literacy and early math skills as well as to computers, art, music and swimming. Our center is accredited by the National Associate for the Education of Young Children. This prestigious recognition, only achieved by approximately 7% of early childhood programs nationwide, certifies that the Neighborhood House's early childhood program meets national standards of excellence in childcare.

After-School Program

Family Resources
Lenox Hill Neighborhood House’s family workers help parents become and remain involved in their children’s education, both inside and outside of school. Our experienced, diverse and well-qualified staff members provide social and health services for families, including referrals for the services and the entitlements they need to survive and thrive. In addition, they instruct and guide participants through a wide variety of activities, support groups and workshops.

Designed to reduce the feelings of isolation often experienced by single parents, our Single Parents Group provides a forum for open discussion on all aspects of single life as well as on raising children alone. In our Fathers Group, men gather to discuss the challenges and rewards of raising children as well as other topics of interest to men including stress, health issues, marriage and self esteem. Childcare is available during meetings of both groups.
