Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
SNAP benefits can help stretch your budget and put food on your table!
Did you know that the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps to alleviate hunger through a monthly financial supplement that can stretch your food budget? SNAP funds are loaded onto an EBT card that can be swiped at grocery stores in the same way you swipe a debit card.
SNAP benefits are easy to use and can help you purchase food each month. Many New Yorkers are eligible for benefits but don’t know it, or don’t apply because they are unfamiliar with program eligibility, don’t understand how the program works, or need help filling out the application. Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is here to help!
Think you might be eligible or want more information about the SNAP program? Our SNAP Assistance Clinics are free and open to the public. Stop by to determine your eligibility. Our SNAP Advocates conduct confidential pre-screenings to determine eligibility and can assist you with submitting the application.
Lenox Hill Neighborhood House clinics are held from 10:00 - 1:00 every Wednesday. Clinics at Bellevue Hospital are held from 9:00 - 3:00 every Friday through September. Click here to download a PDF with more information, including the documentation you should bring with you.
