Director of Children and Family Services
Marian Detelj has been our Director of Children and Family Services since 1991. During her time at the Neighborhood House, Marian has also served as our Head Start Director and the Assistant Director of our Head Start Program and our After School Program. Additionally, Marian is part of the National Head Start Association’s Investing in Impact Working Group where she helps create a framework for outcomes measurement. Marian also participates in the Building Evidence for Innovation Advisory Group where she explores how to build a body of evidence around best practices and program characteristics that can be targeted to strengthen the performance of typical Head Start grantees. Before joining the Neighborhood House, Marian worked as a teacher at Hunter College Elementary School. Marian is a graduate of the State University of New York at New Paltz and received her MS in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College.
