Project STAR

Project STAR, Support, Training, Advocacy and Respite, offers unique, critically-needed services for unpaid family caregivers and their frail elderly loved ones.

STAR runs many support groups for Caregivers including a group for adult children who are caring for a parent, a group for spouses, a group for long distance caregivers who are caring for a parent or other relative over the age of 60 who lives out of town and a bereavement group for spouses and partners.

In addition to support groups, individual counseling services are available free of charge for spouses, children, relatives and other unpaid caregivers of frail adults over age 60. We also offer community education forums, bereavement counseling, weekly swim and gym nights and respite homecare services.

Project STAR works in collaboration with Lenox Hill Neighborhood House’s Caregivers Legal Support Center which helps caregivers and their care recipients with a variety of civil legal needs.
