Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is a preeminent provider of older adult services. Our ultimate goal for our older adult clients is to help them improve their quality of life, retain their independence and strengthen themselves and their community. We provide a broad range of integrated services for more than 10,000 older adult residents of the community each year, the majority of whom live on low-level fixed incomes.
These services, funded both by the City and State Governments and through extensive private fundraising from foundations, corporations and individuals, have been designed to help strengthen older adults and their community so that older adults can remain as independent as possible in their community, living engaged and healthy lives.
All of our Older Adult Services programs for older adults are headed by a Master’s level social worker and staffed by Masters’ and Bachelors’ level workers.
Our pioneering range of older adult services is integrated into our diverse settlement house model and includes: support for family caregivers and their frail elderly loved ones; financial and case management services for older adults; a social day program for cognitively frail older adults through the CARE program; our two Senior Centers, located at 343 East 70th Street and on East 54th Street at Saint Peter’s Church, which have a combined membership of over 9,000; seven-day-a-week transportation services in our accessible buses; legal advocacy; the Caregivers Legal Support Center; Adult Education; Visual and Performing Arts; Fitness and Aquatics; and more.
