RealArts Summer Camp

RealArts offers specialty camps for children ages 6-13 in dance, drama, music and visual art. Additional activities include literacy, swimming, sports, weekly field trips, cultural activities, live performance experiences and computers. Our camp has a significant focus on visual and performing arts for 75 children each session whose families live or work in our community as part of our larger Children and Family Services programming.

Our children are able experience a summer full of fun and excitement — discover the arts, explore museums and art exhibitions, play outdoors, learn to swim in our beautiful pool and much more. The new arts-based structure includes the visual arts (e.g., painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking), music, drama, dance/movement and digital media. There is also an ample amount of physical activity, which is so important for the health and development of our children.  The physical activities are structured and include drama and dance.

Other physical activities include structured games that emphasize teamwork and collaboration.   The children love swimming and we are fortunate to have a beautiful, renovated indoor swimming pool on-site at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House. The swimming is educational and well-structured, led by the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Aquatics Coordinator and assisted by licensed lifeguards. We also offer some of our oldest campers the opportunity to participate in an intensive study of Digital Arts where they study drawing for animation, stop animation, digital photography, recording techniques and graphic arts.
