Our Children and Family Services programs serve 400 low-income children (ages 3 to 13) and their families each year through our Early Childhood Center, RealArts Education Program and RealArts Summer Camp.

From their enrollment at age three in our full-day Early Childhood Center, to our RealArts Education Program and RealArts Summer Camp, all children receive a quality curriculum designed to excite them about learning and expand their understanding of the world.

All of our programs provide children with daily freshly prepared, nutritious meals. Our family-centered philosophy throughout all of our work has translated into extremely high developmental and educational outcomes for our children and families and has distinguished us locally and nationally. In addition to providing educational services, Lenox Hill Neighborhood House integrates other services that benefit the entire family.

The approach in our Children and Family Services department is based on the belief that the best way to meet children’s needs is when we holistically address the child and their environment. This means we offer a wealth of services, including child psychologists and mental health supports, social service interventions for families, health services, civil legal services, visual and performing arts, swimming instruction in our pool, playtime in our gym and outdoor playroof and classes in our computer lab.

As we believe in a holistic, “settlement house” model of providing integrated services, many other Lenox Hill Neighborhood House staff in other departments are involved in our efforts on behalf of children and families: lawyers and non-attorney advocates, registrar, child psychologist, nutritionist, volunteer director, visual and performing arts staff, food services staff and more.
