Adult Education

We offer classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) that provide adults with practical and enjoyable learning experiences. Students gain skills that enrich their lives and improve their careers. We invite you to learn with us at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House!

Our ESOL classes help English language learners become more engaged in their communities, obtain better jobs and be more involved in their children’s education. We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced English classes to adult students from all walks of life and from all over the world.

10-week CLASSES BEGIN the week of monday, january 7, 2019:

  • Beginner ESOL (Level 1): Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:15 am to 12:15 pm

  • High Beginner ESOL (Level 2): Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:15 am to 12:15 pm

  • Intermediate ESOL (Level 3): Mondays and Fridays, 9:15 am to 12:15 pm

  • Advanced ESOL Conversation (Level 4): Wednesdays, 9:15 am to 12:15 pm * Level 4 begins January 30

To enroll, you must attend registration on Tuesday, December 18 at 331 E. 70th Street between 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. Registration is first-come, first-served and will last 20-40 minutes. Students will fill out a form on a computer and then meet with an instructor. If your class fills up before you arrive on December 18, you will be added to a waiting list. Please note that we no longer offer computer courses for the general public. However, we do offer free computer courses for Center @ Lenox Hill Neighborhood House members in a number of subjects including Digital Photography, Microsoft Excel and Word and Social Networking.
